APPLE_TAINTED_KISSES (PG)

The crew of six were sitting on the couch together watching a movie. Unfortunately, today was Tora's turn to pick a movie. For whatever reason, Tora seemed to have made it a mission to pick the most suck-ass film know to man. It was some terribly old black-and-white American war film with bad actors. The guys seemed to be getting into it (or at least tolerating it), but she was bored to death. About thirty minutes into the film, she stood up and said, “I'm going to cut some apples now. Do you guys want any?” The “guys”, transfixed on the film's subtitles, shook their heads “no”.

She sighed wearily as she entered their kitchen. She pulled out four apples from the fridge, rinsed them, and began to peel off their somewhat bitter skins. She was only on her second apple when she heard footsteps coming up from behind her. She paused as she watched Hiroto walk to the other side of the island and prop his elbows on the edge of it. He was right in front of her, eyes aimed upwards, meeting hers.

“Movie bored you huh?” Hiroto said, casually.
“Yes~ I hate war films.” she stated.
“I don't particularly like them myself.” Hiroto said, standing up, elbows locked, hands spread out on the pale countertop.
“Hm.” she acknowledged with a nod of her head, still scalping that apple.
“Can I have one?” Hiroto asked, gesturing at the apples.
“Yup.” she said, setting down the newly peeled apple and cutting off a slice of the newly stripped mass.
He picked it up, ate it thoughtfully, and then said, “I can see why you like these things.”
“They are great aren't they?” she said with a smirk.
“Not as great as you.” he responded, locking eyes with her.
“What are you saying~?” she said, darting her eyes away and laughing nervously.

She had finished peeling the apples and was beginning to cut them, placing them in an orange plastic bowl four pieces at a time. She said nothing when Hiroto ate another slice and closed his eyes as he chewed.

He turned to face her as she stood at the sink behind him. Her hands carefully working over the knives and cutting board, rising off the traces the apples had left behind. She almost bumped into Hiroto when she turned around to take a paper-towel in her wet hands and dry them, Hiroto watching the whole time.

“Time to go back to 'old black-and-white movie' land. Fun fun!” she said sarcastically with a chuckle.
“Or,” Hiroto said, grasping her still damp hands, “How about something even more entertaining?”
“Like what? What are you up to?! You know I-” Hiroto cut her off as his lips made contact with hers. She couldn't do anything at first, shocked by his action and paralyzed by the fear of being caught by the four guys on the other side of the wall. But soon, she succumbed to Hiroto's affections. She kissed him back; hesitantly at first, then intensely. She showed no indication of protest when Hiroto's hands let go of hers to loop themselves around her soft waist. And Hiroto, extremely pleased with himself, kissed her harder when her hands came up between them to hug his neck. One of them (and no one knows who) started drifting backwards and before long, her hips were firmly pressed against the edge of the counter.

Then, Nao noticed that two certain people were missing. He heard the sound of feet shuffling across the kitchen floor, a small thud, and a giggle. He elbowed Shou who started laughing under his breath.

“ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO WATCH THIS MOVIE OR KEEP MAKING OUT ALL OVER THE KITCHEN?!” Saga shouted at them, a smile in his voice.

She looked down, embarrassed but smiling. Hiroto, arms still around his girlfriend, looked up and directed his voice towards the living room.

“We'll just say in here! Together! Making out!” Hiroto shouted back. The sound of roaring laughter came out of the living room as Hiroto started to walk away. She snatched Hiroto's warm hand, pulling him into her. He smiled as she grasped his chin, bringing his lips towards hers. When their mouths collided, she could swear she tasted the slightest hint of Gala apples on his tongue. She couldn't help but smile as Hiroto's hands slipped across her back and the sounds of the movie played in the background.

“Tora, thanks for picking such a suck-ass movie!” she thought, secretly.
